You can relax at the hotel or experience the city of Colombo by visiting Fort, Pettah, goldsmith’s shops, Dutch Church at Wolfendal, Davatagaha Mosque, Independence square or shopping time!!! You may buy handicrafts from Lanka Hands, fabrics & clothing from Odel Unlimited where you shop with glamour or Gems & jewellery from Stone & String. (The choice is yours – depending on your arrival flight time) Evening relax and enjoy a swim in the pool as the sun sets. Enjoy Dinner at the hotel.
Today morning play a round of Golf at the Royal Colombo Golf Course – the oldest in the country, it was founded in 1879. Spend the afternoon playing golf or you can just relax in the hotel.
A lively city, Kandy is surrounded by rolling hills and forest. The last capital of the Singhalese Kingdom, this hill country city is famed for its lake and the Temple of the Tooth. North of the lake is the Udawattakelle Sanctuary (Optional). Filled with forest birds and monkeys, a beautiful spot for a relaxing walk through the cool woodland. The Peradeniya Botanical Gardens are within 30 minutes of Kandy, and are also home to the enormous fruit bats who hang from the tree tops as they sleep during daytime. You could also visit a traditional arts & crafts centre, a gem museum. This evening you could visit the Temple of the Tooth, resting place of the country’s most precious Buddhist relic. Set on the banks of the lake, and surrounded by moat, the temple and its setting makes for unforgettable moonlit walks.
Today morning you may enjoy playing Golf at the Victoria Golf Club – rated by Golf Digest USA as one the 100 most scenic golf courses in the world and The Best Course on the Subcontinent, is a par 73 international championship course. Relax your self at the hotel with an evening drink and end the day with a lovely dinner at the hotel.
Depart Kandy and drive to Nuwara Eliya or Little England as it is also aptly referred to. It is Sri Lanka’s most popular holiday resort. At approximately 6500 feet above sea level, with temperatures ranging from 12 C to 22 C it opens into a breathtaking panorama of color. Beautiful gardens, cascading waterfalls, lakes and sweet smelling mountain air.
Today morning enjoy a round of Golf at the Nuwara Eliya Golf Club – one of Asia’s finest golf courses set at the base of Mount Pidurutalagala in the heart of tea-growing country. Evening relax your self at the hotel with an afternoon high Tea sessions.
Today depart for Negombo. Bustling Negombo town is a historically interesting place, strongly influenced by the Catholic Church. The narrow strip of land to the South of the lagoon and the many canals make for good exploring. After relaxing and enjoying your lunch (depending on your departure flight time) in the afternoon take in Negombo’s most famous fish market where you can see fish auctions on the beach and sales at the market. Visit the ruins of the Dutch fort near the lagoon which has a fine gateway inscribed with the date 1678, also here is a green, called Esplanade, where cricket matches are a big attraction. You may visit St. Mary’s Church in the town centre, has very good ceiling paintings by a local artist
